Greensboro --- Where It All Happens

Greensboro, Vermont is the small village that is located less than two miles from The Big Brown House. The population of Greensboro swells from around 700 in the winter to over 1500 in the summer. In the summer, Greensboro is a hotbed of activity with numerous social and cultural events occurring all over the area.

The LA Times called the area around Greensboro, Wallace Stegner's Vermont. Over the past few years, Greensboro has become a center of both food culture and the arts. Most notably, the addition of Jasper Hill cheeses, Hill Farmstead Brewery, and Barr Hill Distillery to the already rich food culture that has been around for decades has reinvigorated Greensboro. This rural area also hosts numerous important cultural attractions such as Circus Smirkus, The Bread and Puppet Theater, The Craftsbury Chamber Players and more. Attractions abound that appeal to all ages. The Cabot Cheese Factory, The Vermont Maple Museum, and the Great Vermont Corn Maze are all particularly well suited to children. Additionally, multitudes of family friendly activities are available in nearby Stowe and Burlington.
